Neighborhood Harvest

Growing community, one harvest at a time.

We pick surplus fruit and garden produce from backyards, orchards, and local farms, then share it freely with neighbors across Humboldt County.

What we do

Good food, picked and passed along

  1. Harvest & Glean

We pick surplus fruit and garden produce from backyards, community orchards, local farms, and shared outdoor spaces, so good food gets eaten instead of going to waste.

  2. Share Freely

Fresh, locally grown food is shared freely with neighbors through community tables, Harvest Hang Out events, food pantries, and partner organizations.

  3. Gather & Connect

We host seasonal and themed Harvest Hang Outs that bring people together around food, creativity, learning, and community care.

Request a Harvest

Have a backyard tree or garden with more fruit and produce than you can use? Let us come pick it. Our volunteers glean the extras and share them freely with neighbors around Humboldt County.

Fill out our short gleaning agreement and our team will get in touch to find a time. Already sent us one? Contact us and we'll get a harvest on the calendar.

Worried about liability? A federal law, the Emerson Good Samaritan Act, protects property owners who let gleaners harvest for donation.

Find Free Food Near You

Good food should never go to waste while a neighbor goes hungry. Sharing what we grow keeps people fed, cuts down on waste, and reminds us we're all looking out for each other.

We keep a community map of free produce stands, food pantries, and other free food spots across Humboldt County. Everything on it is free, and everyone is welcome. Take what you need, leave what you can.
